Together with AEMP (Africa Energy Management Platform), its strategic development partner for B2B projects in Africa, Total Eren has successfully developed, financed and built, and now operates, a 15 MWp solar PV plant coupled with a 55 MW thermal power plant for IAMGOLD’s Essakane mine in Burkina Faso. Made up of close to 130,000 photovoltaic panels, Essakane Solar is the largest hybrid PV-HFO plant in the world and one of the largest solar facilities in sub-Saharan Africa.
